The car
The Porsche 956 was built in 1982 and immediately showed its dominance by claiming all podium spots at it’s debut le Mans in that same year. The following the first 8 spots were claimed by a 956 as well. I think you have seen that “nobody’s perfect” meme :D. The 956 is a spectacular car, with very flowing lines and ground effect. It also has the very 80s aerodiscs, to improve aerodynamics.

The Model
The lego car fits within my previous scale models and is the 3rd Group C car that I’ve built. It features a completely flat bottom for the first time, and some rather clever techniques for the nose and the tale. An added feature is the interchangable front aerodiscs: there is a full set with the white Porsche 956 standard discs, and 2 extra ones with BBS branding for the front axle. You can easily swap between the two. There are also stickers included to make a driver minifig: in this case you can build either Jacky Ickx or Derek Bell, the two drivers of the #1 car.
Parts tip: The model includes some parts in rare colours, mainly the fender and 1×2 bracket in dark blue. You can order the brackets in black to save money (I did as well), but as the fenders are quite prominent, they look best in dark blue, but black is a cheaper option.
