“Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is a two-seat sports car produced in two variants as a gullwinged coupe (1954-1957) and a roadster (1957-1963). The SL letters stand for “super-light” (super-leicht in German) referring to the car’s racing-bred light tubular-frame construction. Capable of reaching a top speed of up to 263 km/h (163 mph), it was the fastest production car of its time. Voted the “sports car of the century” in 1999.

This is an 8 studs wide Speed Champions style 370 pieces detailed and solid build display model. There are some advanced techniques used that require decent amount of precision. Recommended for experienced builders.The finished model fits one minifigure on driver’s seat. In order to fit a minifigure you would have to replace the steering wheel for instance with a round 1×1 tile. I use the bigger steering wheel (part 16091) than those used in all Speed Champions sets because it is more appropriate in this scale. The roof section is easy removable.
