UPDATE 29-09-23: The hood bulge has been revised to stick out less (only half a stud now) and to minimize the gaps between the stickers to make the striping less segmented. You can build the updated model using the following instructions: chevrolet_camaro_bumblebee_instructions_hoodfix_final. For this mod the parts list has been updated, but if you built the model before the update you need the following parts:

The car / character

Bumblebee is the first autobot we meet in the 2007 transformers movie, and first appeared as Sam’s ’77 camaro. As later offended by Mikaela, Bumblebee storms off and comes back as a brand new Camaro, based on the 2006 concept car, which would later go into production. It’s the most iconic character in all of transformers besides Optimus Prime and Megatron, and a fan favourite, so I had to build him!

The model

The Camaro hasn’t seen many lego renditions yet, so this was a great opportunity to capture it in the lego medium. I chose the flame yellowish orange colour to build this model, as I find it closer to the movie appearance compared to regular yellow which is too bright. But no worries, you can build the camaro BOTH in yellow or yellowish orange as the stickers are clear-backed. you only need to substitute 2 parts (1×1 snot bricks with 2 studs on the sides don’t exist in yellow, regular snot suffices).
The front end took some time to get right, and I eventually settled on this design. The entire front bumper has been designed upside down, and the 1x1x2/3 brick plays a crucial role here. The hood can be (partially) removed to reveal the V8 engine, and there is some interior suited for 2 minifigs (with short hair/helmets). The back was also a nice area to give shape, as I played with the angled and curved lines.

Stickers

As mentioned before, the stickers are clear backed, so you can choose which colour you build your camaro in: yellow or flame yellowish orange. The majority of the stickers captures the stripes of Bumblebee, and as few as possible stickers are used to capture details like the vents, headlights and logos. Additionally, an extra license plate is included on the stickersheet.

3D-printed rims

To elevate the Camaro even further, Brickthebrick specifically designed these 5-spoke rims for the model to completely capture the movie look of Bumblee. You can order these rims HERE.
The partslist includes regular rims as well, as you can see on the original photos.
