The car

The Lamborghini SC63 is Lamborghini’s entry to long distance racing after a long absence. With the SC63 LMDh, Lamborghini hopes to be victorious in both the WEC and IMSA championships respectively, powered by their V8 engine, the SC63 showed clear speed in the first few races it has entered, but more testing and reliability are required in order for it to fight at the front of the pack.
The SC63 features Lamborghini’s current styling and DNA, and so the Y pattern for the front- and taillights can be seen, as well as the bold lime colour.The model

Just as with the Alpine A424, the SC63 turned out to be one of the most complex models I have ever designed. Just looking at the parts count, you can imagine how much went into this model. Things that stand out are the fully brickbuilt taillights, something I really wanted to accomplish. It took several tries and attempts before arriving at the final design as is here. Another milestone was the angling of the side panels behind the front fender. On the real car, they curve inwards, and form a sharp line with the upper part of the front fender. I tried first techniques identical and similar to the Alpine, but that ultimately fell short, and in the end, some older pieces proved to do just the trick. The final detail I wanted to capture for the SC63 was getting the red trim on the front splitter and sideskirts. In order for it to look good, I redesigned the entire front splitter to show as little red from the top as possible, so it would only be striping. I am very happy with the end result, and I’m sure you will enjoy the build experience of this model.Stickers
This time the livery wasn’t as complex as e.g. the Alpine A424, but it still proved to be a challenge. Getting the headlights right was the hardest part, lining up all the stickers so the Y-pattern was convincing enough. As usual, the stickersheet comes pre-cut and numbered, and of the typical high quality. Two sheets are included, namely a regular white vinyl sheet and a shiny silver sheet for the cockpit.
