The car

The Sauber C9 is a joint cooperation between the Sauber team most of us now know from Formula one and Mercedes-Benz. Up until 1988 Mercedes was just involved as an engine supplier with a mighty V8, but the following year stepped in to further aid Sauber in their aim for victory. The Sauber C9 was the return of the Silver Arrows to La Sarthe, and was up against the dominant and faster Jaguar XJR -9s from last year and a couple Porsche 962c’s. The Sauber proved to be the most reliable car, as the Jaguars suffered tire and gearbox issues, leading the silver #63 car to win the race.
The model
For the first time in my prototype models, you can now decide to build the model with stickers by Brickstickershop, or to have a fully brickbuilt model (or mix and match to your liking). Since the car is just silver (light bluish gray) with only sponsors or logos, no stickers are needed to capture a livery or colour scheme, and hence the car can be 100% brickbuilt. I do however recommend the stickers, as they include all the little details of the real car, like the sponsors, the logos, and all the vents and NACA-ducts.

Stickers
Stickers are once again from Brickstickershop, precut and numbered and of high quality. Again a sticker is included for a race suit for a minifig. Due to difficulty of finding the correct race suit I do not have a copy of it myself, but you will. Stickers are available HERE
